Lost in Space is a science fiction TV series created and produced by Irwin Allen, produced by 20th Century Fox Television, and broadcast on CBS. It ran between September 15, 1965 and March 6, 1968, with the 1st season shot with black-and-white film, and the rest in color. The series focused primarily on Jonathan Harris as Dr. Zachary Smith, whose cowardly character provided comic relief for the show. In 1998, a film based on the series was released.
